The Maharashtra government has passed a resolution asking Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to appoint Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as an MLC, at a time when elections to the council have been postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

महाराष्ट्र सरकार के मंत्री नवाब मलिक ने गुरुवार को बताया कि, 'आज की कैबिनेट बैठक में फैसला लिया गया है कि राज्यपाल की ओर से मनोनीत किए जाने वाले 2 सदस्यों के खाली पदों में एक सीट के लिए मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे के नाम की सिपारिश की जाएगी। क्योंकि कोरोना वायरस की वजह से अभी एमएलसी चुनाव नहीं हो सकते हैं। यह संवैधानिक संकट को टालने की वजह से किया जा रहा है।'
