RSS-affiliated labour union Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has criticised the decision of BJP-ruled states MP, UP and Gujarat to suspend most labour laws in the state, stating that the move is against international principles of law and could set a precedent for other states. The union has also called for an emergency meeting of its central office bearers and will likely stage protests soon.

भारतीय मज़दूर संघ के महासचिव विरजेश उपाध्याय ने न्यूज चैनल एनडीटीवी से बातचीत करते हुए कहा कि, 'हम राज्य सरकारों की इस पहल के सख्त खिलाफ हैं. बीएमएस नेताओं ने श्रम कानून में बदलाव करने के राज्य सरकारों के फैसले की समीक्षा की है. हम उत्तर प्रदेश, मध्य प्रदेश समेत हर राज्य सरकार से ये पूछना चाहते हैं कि अर्थव्यवस्था को दोबारा पटरी पर लाने में मौजूदा श्रम कानून कैसे रोड़ा बन रहे हैं? हम किसी भी हालत में श्रमिकों के अधिकारों को स्थगित करने के फैसले के सख्त खिलाफ हैं'.
