The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most competitive domestic T20 tournaments on the planet and in the last twelve seasons, the tournament has witnessed some sensational batting performances. The talented pool of batsmen, which this tournament is never devoid of, helped raise the standard of the competition every year. Orange Cap is awarded to the bowler who scores the most runs in the tournament and since inception, this league has witnessed some incredible batting efforts.

आईपीएल में तो वैसे कई रिकार्ड्स बने हैं और टूटे भी हैं. कई दिग्गज खिलाड़ियों का बल्ला इस लीग में जमकर बोला है. खूब चौके और छक्कों की बरसात हुई है. पर आंकड़ों पर देखा जाए तो भारतीय टी20 लीग होने के बावजूद इस टूर्नामेंट में विदेशी बल्लेबाजों का खूब दबदबा रहा है. अब तक बारह सीजन खेले गए हैं और सिर्फ तीन ही सीजन ऐसा रहा है. जहाँ पर भारतीय बल्लेबाज ने सबसे ज्यादा रन बनाए. बाकी नौ सीजन में विदेशी खिलाड़ियों ने बाजी मारी. इस दौरान अकेले डेविड वॉर्नर ने तीन सीजन ऑरेंज कैप जीता था. ऑरेंज कैप का मतलब है कि आईपीएल में सबसे ज्यादा रन. तीन सीजन डेविड वॉर्नर ने सबसे ज्यादा रन बनाए और एक सीजन तो बैन लगने की वजह से वो खेल ही नहीं पाए थे.
