Jantar Mantar in Delhi witnessed a massive protest against the Uttar Pradesh government's handling of the death of a 19-year-old Dalit girl from Hathras. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also took part in the protest.
Meanwhile, workers affiliated with the Savarn Samaj staged a dharna in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras on Friday demanding justice for the men accused of brutalising a 19-year-old Dalit girl. A panchayat was also held in favour of the four accused who are in police custody. This, even as the media and other politicians are kept away from the village, citing Section 144 imposition.
