The Sarbananda Sonowal government of Assam has taken a big decision regarding madrasas. State Education Minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma has announced that all the government Madrassas of the state will be closed. He said that there is no provision for giving religious education with public money, so government Madrassas will no longer be operated. Notification of this order will be released next month.

असम की सर्वानंद सोनोवाल सरकार ने मदरसों को लेकर एक बड़ा फैसला लिया है. प्रदेश के शिक्षा मंत्री हिमन्त विश्व शर्मा ने घोषणा की है कि राज्य के सभी सरकारी मदरसे बंद किए जाएंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि पब्लिक के रुपयों से धार्मिक शिक्षा देने का प्रावधान नहीं है, इसलिए सरकारी मदरसे अब नहीं संचालित होंगे। इस आदेश का नोटिफिकेशन अगले महीने जारी कर दिया जाएगा.
