Air pollution levels rose in the capital on Dussehra as firecrackers were burned, nearly doubling the concentration of pollutants at five monitoring stations after 6pm on Sunday.The rise in pollution levels were noticed even as wind speed at the five monitoring stations — a crucial meteorological factor that helps in dispersion of pollutants — remained constant and low, ranging between 0.1 and 1 metre per second, as per data from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC).

देश की राजधानी दिल्ली एक बार फिर से प्रदूषण के गंभीर चपेट में आ गई है. राजधानी में हवा की गुणवत्ता और खराब स्थिति में पहुंच गई है. सीजन की शुरुआत में दिल्ली में वायु प्रदूषण का स्तर 200 AQI के करीब था जो सोमवार की सुबह बढ़कर 400 के पार चला गया है. रविवार को शाम 6 बजे के बाद राजधानी के 5 निगरानी स्टेशनों पर प्रदूषण की जांच की गई जिसमें हवा की गुणवत्ता का स्तर दोगुना पाया गया. अगले दिन तक राहत की उम्मीद नहीं है. दिल्ली पॉल्यूशन कंट्रोल कमेटी द्वारा जारी डाटा के मुताबिक सोमवार की सुबह दिल्ली का AQI 405 रहा.
