The festival of lights, Diwali is here. The five-day festival is celebrated with much fervour. Bhai Dooj, part of the five-day festival is celebrated on the last day of Diwali. Bhai Dooj is also known as Bhau Beej, Bhatra Dwitiya, Bhai Dwitiya, and Bhatru Dwithiya. This year, Bhai Dooj will be celebrated on October 29. The festivities are similar to that of Raksha Bandhan. On the occasion of Bhai Dooj, fondly called as Bhai Tikka, sisters pray for their brothers’ well-being and happy lives. Brothers shower their sisters with gifts, chocolates and other valuable items.
