Thiruvananthapuram: Basking in the glory of local body elections in Kerala, the ruling the Left Democratic Front (LDF) has decided to elect Arya Rajendran, a second-year graduate student as the Mayor of the prestigious Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Arya will be the youngest Mayor of the country. The decision was taken by the CPI (M) district committee that was convened on Friday. The news has sprung a major surprise for Arya and her family. Arya Rajendran, aged 21, is a second-year BSc Mathematics student of the All Saints College.

केरल की राजधानी तिरुवनंतपुरम के साथ एक इतिहास जुड़ गया है. आर्या राजेंद्रन नाम की लड़की तिरुवनंतपुरम में देश की सबसे युवा मेयर बनने जा रही हैं. सीपीएम ने अपने इस युवा नेता पर विश्वास जताया है. आर्या राजेंद्रन को मेयर नियुक्त करने का फैसला सीपीएम जिला सचिवालय ने लिया। उन्हें हाल ही में हुए नगर निकाय चुनावों में मुदवन्मुगल से वार्ड काउंसिलर चुना गया था। इन चुनावों में सीपीएम की ओर से आर्या सबसे युवा प्रत्याशी थीं।
