In the scriptures, Kanya Poojan or Kanya Bhoja is said to be extremely important on the occasion of Navratri. In Navratri, all the seekers of the Mother Goddess worship the girls as the second form of Mother Durga. The people of Sanatan Dharma have a tradition of worshiping girls and providing food to girls for centuries. Female banquet is considered very important especially for those who establish the urn and keep a nine-day vow.

शास्त्रों में नवरात्रि के अवसर पर कन्या पूजन या कन्या भोज को अत्यंत ही महत्वपूर्ण बताया गया है। नवरात्रि में देवी मां के सभी साधक कन्याओं को मां दुर्गा का दूसरा स्वरूप मानकर उनकी पूजा करते हैं। सनातन धर्म के लोगों में सदियों से ही कन्या पूजन और कन्या भोज कराने की परंपरा है। विशेषकर कलश स्थापना करने वालों और नौ दिन का वृत रखने वालों को लिए कन्या भोज को बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है।
