Indian Women cricket team outgoing head coach WV Raman has alleged that a "smear campaign" against him has gained unwarranted traction and he has requested BCCI president Sourav Ganguly to stop it. In an email that WV Raman also sent to the NCA head Rahul Dravid, he wrote it will be "extremely disconcerting" if his candidature was rejected due to reasons other than "my incompetency as a coach". WV Raman was not retained as the head coach of the senior women's team by the CAC which picked Ramesh Powar for the job.

WV Raman को हटा दिया गया है. इसके बाद रमन ने Sourav Ganguly को पत्र भी लिखा कि टीम में कुछ खिलाड़ी हैं जो खुद को टीम से ऊपर समझते हैं. मैं बस टीम को पहले रखने की कोशिश कर रहा था और ऊपर ले जाना चाहता था. माना जा रहा है कि Harmanpreet Kaur की पसंद रमेश पोवार थे. पर जब मिताली से अनबन हुई थी. तो पोवार को पद से हटा दिया गया था. Harmanpreet Kaur और Ramesh Powar इस समय बिलकुल कोहली और शास्त्री जैसे हैं.
