Huge quantities of stale and unhygienic food items were seized by a joint enforcement squad of the Khurdha Municipality and the Health Department. The matter came to fore following surprise raids at several hotels and road-side eateries selling various cooked food items in the Khordha Municipality area.

The crackdown comes close on the heels of a series of raids at several units engaged in adulteration of food products in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and other places in Odisha. The discovery of such stale & unhealthy food during the raids is indeed an eye-opener.
