A strong and shallow earthquake of magnitude 8.2 struck the Alaskan peninsula late on Wednesday, prompting tsunami warnings in the U.S. state and heightened surveillance across the pacific. There were no immediate reports of loss of property or life. Alaska Peninsula में बुधवार देर रात 8.2 तीव्रता का Earthquake आया. जिसके बाद सुनामी का अलर्ट जारी किया गया है. यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स जियोलॉजिकल सर्वे ने बताया कि इस भूकंप की वजह से सुनामी आ सकती है. जानकारी के मुताबिक भूकंप का केंद्र पेरीविले शहर से लगभग 91 किलोमीटर दक्षिणपूर्व में बताया जा रहा है. अमेरिक की सरकार ने दक्षिणपूर्व अलास्का के लिए भी सुनामी चेतावनी दी है.
