Today Dev Diwali is being celebrated across the country. This festival comes 15 days after Diwali, the festival of lights. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm in different states of the country, especially Varanasi. It is believed that on this day Shiva killed the demon Tripurasur and Vishnu took the Matsya avatar. That's why it is also called Dev Diwali 2021. Bathing in holy rivers and donating lamps has special significance on this day. According to the Panchang, this year Dev Diwali is being celebrated on November 18, while the bath of Kartik Purnima and all the worship related to it will be done on November 19.

आज देश भर में देव दिवाली मनाई जा रही है. यह पर्व रोशनी के त्योहार दीपावली के 15 दिनों के बाद आता है. ये देश के विभिन्न राज्यों, विशेष रूप से वाराणसी में बड़े हर्षोउल्लास के साथ मनाया जाता है. मान्यता है कि इस दिन शिव जी ने त्रिपुरासुर नामक राक्षस का वध किया था और विष्णु जी ने मत्स्य अवतार भी लिया था. इसलिए इसे देव दिवाली (Dev Diwali 2021) भी कहते हैं. इस दिन पवित्र नदियों में स्नान करने और दीपदान करने का विशेष महत्व है. पंचांग के अनुसार, इस साल देव दिवाली 18 नवंबर को मनाई जा रही जबकि कार्तिक पूर्णिमा का स्नान और इससे जुड़े सभी पूजा-पाठ 19 नवंबर को किए जाएंगे.
