Holi festival is one of the major festivals of Hindus. It is believed that on this day people get completely immersed in colors and embrace each other celebrating good over evil. It is believed that the color and gulal played on the day of Holi enhances mutual love and harmony. Holika Dahan takes place just a day before the Holi that plays colours, in which prayers are offered for the end of all evils. It is believed that in the fire of Holika all the evils and hair are burnt to ashes. On this day, many different measures are adopted for the happiness and prosperity of the house and many different methods are tried for the fulfillment of wishes.

होली का त्योहार हिंदुओं के प्रमुख त्योहारों में से एक है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि इस दिन लोग रंगों में पूरी तरह डूब जाते हैं और बुराई पर अच्छाई का जश्न मनाते हुए एक दूसरे को गले लगाते हैं। ऐसा माना जाता है कि होली के दिन खेला जाने वाला रंग और गुलाल आपसी प्रेम और सौहार्द्र को बढ़ाता है। रंग खेलने वाली होली के ठीक एक दिन पहले होलिका दहन होता है जिसमें सभी बुराइयों को ख़त्म करने की प्रार्थना की जाती है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि होलिका की अग्नि में सभी बुराइयां और बालाएं जलकर भस्म हो जाती हैं। इस दिन घर की सुख समृद्धि के लिए कई अलग-अलग उपाय अपनाए जाते हैं और मनोकामनाओं की पूर्ति के लिए कई अलग तरह की युक्तियां आजमाई जाती हैं।
