The India Meteorological Department said that Cyclone Asani has changed its direction and is going to touch the nearby Kakinada coast. Sunanda, Visakhapatnam cyclone warning centre director told ANI that after touching the Kakinada coast, it will come again to sea between Kakinada and Visakhapatnam. The weather department has issued a ‘red’ alert warning for the Andhra Pradesh coast. Cyclone Asani is likely to move northwestwards and reach west central Bay of Bengal close to Kakinada-Visakhapatnam coasts by May 11 morning. Cyclone Asani is likely to weaken gradually into a depression by May 12 morning but before it weakens, it is forecast to cause intense rainfall and extremely strong winds along Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts, reported Hindustan Times.
