The Health department is not seeing massive increases in COVID-19 cases but warns that daily infections in Metro Manila may reach up to 2,000 next month. Daily cases went as high as 39,000 during the Omicron wave in January and 26,000 during the Delta surge last year. Health Secretary Francisco Duque told CNN Philippines the situation is better now compared to when the pandemic started.
