Polish jazz trumpet player Tomasz Stanko was considered the first free-jazz trumpeter in Europe. "Jazz message from Poland" was recorded live at the Parktheater Iserlohn, West Germany on May 28, 1972 by the first quintet Stanko formed as leader. The quintet included the best Polish jazz musicians at the time The music is a brilliant example of early European free jazz/improvised music. In spite the fact that the album was recorded live, it offers a crystal clear sound quality and allows the individual instruments to be perfectly audible. Excellent intersections and references between trumpet and violin, excellently supported by flute, saxophone and rhythm section.
