Christopher Gould's Fatal Crash @ Moroso Motorsports Park 2007

Christopher Gould was killed at Moroso Motorsports Park in Jupiter, Florida when his jet powered Funny Car "Firepower" flipped after a run against Ken Marley's "Rocky Mountain Thunder".

Gould's vehicle clocked 268 miles per hour, but after the finish line of the the quarter-mile strip, veered suddenly to the right, crossing both lanes and flipping end over end before coming to a stop in the grass. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The rest of the day's scheduled racing was canceled.

Chris Gould was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, and lived in Bowdoin, Maine. He had started racing on sport and vintage motorcycles, winning the USCRA Super Vintage Road Racing Championship at Loudon, New Hampshire in 1990. Later he moved to jet dragsters.
