अखंड ज्योति बुझ जाए तो यह करें मान्यता के अनुसार अखंड ज्योति नौ दिनों तक जलते रहना चाहिए, नवरात्रि पूजा के बीच इसका बुझना अशुभ माना जाता है। लेकिन किसी तरह यह अखंड ज्योति बुझ ही जाए तो डरे नहीं। बल्कि इसके लिए माता दुर्गा से क्षमा मांगें। साथ ही इसकी अधजली बाती को हटाकर नई बाती लगाकर अखंड ज्योति को दीपक के बीचोंबीच रखे जाने वाले जलते रक्षासूत्र से जलाएं या अखंड ज्योति के पास रखे जाने वाले दीपक से इस ज्योति को जलाएं। चैत्र नवरात्रि अखंड ज्योति कब तक जलाएं, बुझ जाएं तो करें 1 काम !
