Donald Trump is scheduled to speak and take questions from journalists at the annual convention of the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago on Friday. This gives Trump an opportunity to appeal directly to Black voters as he campaigns against Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election. Some polls show Harris has eliminated Trump's lead and has more support among Black, Latino and young voters than President Biden in 2024. Trump received only 12% of the Black vote in the 2020 election. His campaign stated in a press release that he "accomplished more for Black Americans than any other president in recent history."
