Meaning of the lyrics:
Calm this morning
Off the coast of Hashima
Large bonito and small bonito
Loaded with many bamboo baskets
At the harbor of Shiogama
Boats arriving one after another
Sailing with both maho [tailwind sail setting] and kataho [crosswind sail setting]
Countless boats

Description:
Tairyō utaikomi is a suite of songs that were originally different min’yō, but there was another song with the same name prior to this suite. Currently, it is performed in the order of Saitarabushi followed by Toshima jinku or alternatively, Doyabushi followed by Toshima jinku. The term Doyabushi was commonly used to refer to the entire sequence including Toshima jinku (for convenience here I will refer to the first song in this recording as Doyabushi), and performances without Toshima jinku are not found, however, this recording is split into two videos.
