Recipe Starter

Patacones are a real delicacy straight from Latin America! This Colombian specialty is made from plantains that are double-fried to obtain a crispy exterior and a super-soft interior.
You can enjoy them as an aperitif or as a side dish. This time, we served them with homemade guacamole and "hogao" (a Colombian Creole sauce) for a touch of freshness and exotic flavors :-)

Ingredients:
Guacamole:
- 2 avocados
- 1 lime (to taste)
- 1/2 onion (chopped)
- 1 garlic clove (chopped)
- salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- 1 tbsp. fresh coriander, chopped
- Chili pepper (optional)

Creole tomato sauce (hogao):
- 2 tomatoes
- 1/2 onion (chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or neutral oil)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper / Cumin (to taste)
- Chili pepper (optional)

Patacones:
- 2 plantains
- Frying oil
- Salt (to taste)
