Fapardokly – Fapardokly 1967 (USA, Garage, Psychedelic, Folk Rock)
Another mystery from the golden age of rock music has been solved. According to a source in All Music Guide, there was no such band, but rather a pilot project by Merrell & The Exiles, a Southern California band led by the legendary cult rocker Merrell Fankhauser. That band recorded a few singles for the tiny Glenn label. Another label, UIP, later decided to compile the Glenn singles, adding psychedelic-oriented songs by Merrill and his band (hence the somewhat uneven sound). They then released the album as the work of a band called Fapardokly. At the time, it was unrecorded and long considered a lost classic of '60s folk rock... One of the most fascinating cult figures in rock history, Merrell Wayne Fankhauser (born December 23, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky) was a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and frontman for several bands of the '60s and '70s—The Impacts, Merrell & The Exiles, The H.M.S. Bounty, and MU. In the mid-'70s, he pursued a solo career.
