Malaysia's badminton world champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei fell short of their target of bettering their World Tour Finals result last year.

They were beaten 21-9, 11-21, 17-21 by China's world No. 2 Jiang Zhenbang-Wei Yaxin in the mixed doubles semi-finals of the tournament held in Hangzhou on Dec 20.
