This is a clip taken from the CSJ Annual Awards held in July. The charity featured is Chance UK.
Chance UK was founded in 1994 by a police officer concerned about the level of crime amounts teenagers in North London. He noticed that the younger brothers of siblings involved in criminal activity by antisocial behaviour also became involved and at an increasingly young age. Whilst provision for teenagers was strong, Chance UK aimed to prevent this progression to violence by initiating a paired mentoring scheme that would help these primary schools pupils take a positive path in life.
98% of children mentored finish the programme with an improved behaviour and 51% who do finish have no behavioural difficulties at all.
