133,350 nets were distributed in 150 villages in 9 areas across Zambia to supplement those distributed in a recent campaign and to achieve universal coverage of all sleeping spaces in the villages.

Universal coverage has a significant impact on the local malaria-carrying mosquito population by starving them of a blood meal. If pregnant mosquitoes do not feed every 10-12 days, they die. The impact on the mosquito population and on village health can then be dramatic.
