He was felicitated by India Book of Records management at Nagpur on 27 February 2012 at Rail Museum by Miss Rinki Tomar, Head Records Management Team, India Book of Records, New Delhi. He was interviewed by BCN Channel, Nagpur.

Dr Murthy delivered a inspiring speech on this occasion about his record achievement. He said it took several years for him to acquire 29 degrees from 21 universities/institutes across globe, majority from India. Other countries include United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Nederland's, Austria, West Indies etc.

He was felicitated for making India Book of Record for acquiring 29 degrees from 21 Universities in the World. Mr Rao, Divisional Mechanical Engineer, South Eastern Railway and Head Railway Museum appreciated for his outstanding achievement in education. Rinki Tomar praised him for his scholarly knowledge.
