Al Jazeera is getting reports of renewed gunfire and more military reinforcements pouring into Syria's southern city of Deraa.
It comes just a day after 50 people were killed across the country in Friday's crackdown on anti-government protesters.
Syria's leadership is now facing tough sanctions - the US calling their actions "deplorable".
The people of Deraa, on the country's southern border with Jordan have been under military lockdown since Monday.
