Over 1.3 billion euros in cash and property has been seized by Italian police from one person.

It was taken from Vito Nicastri, a Sicilian alternative energy entrepreneur who has alleged ties to the mafia.

He is accused of tax evasion; allegedly he did not declare all of the value of his businesses.

The seizures include 43 companies, 98 pieces of real estate and 66 bank accounts.
