A poem of self contemplation.

Never Again To Be Alone
by Barbara Lynn Terry
I was sitting there crying,
When the officer asked if I was all right,
There was no use in lying,
I had been there all night.
I told him it had been a sad day,
And that this was just my way,
Of sorting through my mind.
His voice was soft, gentle and kind,
As he asked me if I was thinking...
I said oh no not even blinking.
He smiled and said all right have a good night,
To which I was grateful even in my fright.
I drove back down the mountain,
My composure regained,
And smiled as I entered my home,
Never again to be alone.
