The Stories Behind the Tweets, hosted by William Parra, seeks to open a window to the world, to get to the bottom of stories larger than 140 characters. In today's program: Being gay in Africa is not easy. Homosexuality is illegal in 38 African countries and in several it even carries the death penalty. African gays from Uganda and Kenya tell their stories; homophobia in Brazil as seen from the poor neighborhood of Heliopolis in Sao Paulo, where prejudice is waning; human solidarity and volunteer work in the West African country of Ghana, where NGO projects fill the void, albeit creating their own problems along the way.
