What is this love between you and I
But a fable,
No solid thing.

If I could get it between my hands
I'd smooth down the roughed edges
And form it into a likeness
Of your face.
Or of the silver moon rising full
Under a blue night sky.
Or the closed eye, of a restful bird
Sleeping, tucked deep in feathers
And safe nook of tree.

But this love between you and I,
Its a story we conspire
Together day after day.
Whispering each following chapter
Into the ears of the other
As our moments collect in upon themselves
And arrange into verses
Of our myth.
A favorite bedtime tale, tucked under
the pillow our dreamy heads share
In slumber or in stirring.

And upon waking, we continue on
To engage one the other
Across the linens of our circumstance.
And watch our sweet work of fiction
Unfold it's intangible dance of
Collaberated narration and
Unimagined tenderness.

This beautiful love between you and I.
