Pas kthimit nga vizita e tij ne Shtetet e Bashkuara te Amerikës kryeministri i Kosovës, Hashim Thaçi ka qene i rezervuar ne komentet e tij për situatën ne veri , pas arrestimit te 2 policeve kufitar dhe vrasjes se një shqiptari ne Mitrovice. Megjithatë kreu i qeverise kosovare deklaroi se Kosova do te përdore te gjithë autoritetin e saj kushtetues dhe ligjor për ata qe cenojnë sovranitetin e vendit. Ndërkohe pas deklaratave te ministrit serb për Kosovën se aksionet e policisë kosovare ne veri janë te rrezikshme dhe se tensionet ne veri janë politike, zëvendëskryeministri Hajredin Kuçi nuk është tërhequr nda qëndrimi i tij duke paralajmëruar se ne veri mund te ketë një aksion te ngjashëm me atë te 25 korrikut te vitit te kaluar. Gjate natës ne Mitrovicë ka patur një tjetër konflikt ne distance mes KFOR-it dhe njësive speciale kosovare, te pozicionuar ne një kamp atje. Sipas mediave, KFOR ka patrulluar gjate gjithë natës duke ruajtur bazën e forcave speciale kosovare, te njohura ndryshe si Rosu, pas një informacioni se këta trupa do te kryenin një operacion blic përtej urës se Ibrit ne veri.
