RSS does not have women in its shakhas mainly because of vigourous exercise and a meeting at 6 am, both of which do not suit women, according to RSS insiders. The explanation came after Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had asked a gathering of women in Gujarat if they had ever seen a woman wearing shorts in an RSS Shakha.
