The USGS’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory warned on May 10 that additional outbreaks of lava were likely around Leilani Estates, with residents having been evacuated in recent days.

Hazardous gases were still being released in the area on the evening of May 10, according to the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency.
