Jeremiah Osuna captured footage of lava spurting from volcanic fissures in Leilani Estates, Hawaii, on May 22.
Osuna told Storyful, “I was shocked to find that there was a huge lava lake at the place where I had just been three days ago. So much had changed in the past three days. More homes have been destroyed and there were no more trees blocking the view of this lava fissure.”
The USGS has reported that moderate-level eruption of lava continued on May 22 from multiple points along the northeast end of the active fissure system.
