A small plane crashed along a rural stretch of road in Springfield Township, New Jersey, on June 13, killing two and leaving behind a trail of debris, according to local reports.
The Hawker Beechcraft 58 Baron plane went down around 10:10 am, according to local media, citing Federal Aviation Administration officials.
Local resident Garrett Andrew Rodriguez-Maribona, who was driving along the road when the crash occurred, said all he saw was “this huge wall of smoke go across the road” in front of him. Rodriguez-Maribona said he and a few other people stopped their cars to investigate what happened.
“When we realized it was a plane crash I went into search and rescue mode to see if I could help anyone.” Unfortunately, Rodriguez-Maribona said, it quickly became clear that there were no survivors from the crash.
