Over the weekend we had the pleasure of interviewing American synth-pop band, Future Islands at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2015 in Singapore. In part one of this two part interview, we talk about Future’s recent tour and the band let’s us in on what they love to check out in every new city they visit.
The band’s singer, Samuel Herring reveals the complications of being a smoker in Singapore and discusses his desire to live in a different era. We chat about their iconic Letterman performance, including the nerves, the fears and the moments that lead up to it. Finally, the band discusses their musical inspirations and finish up by telling us about what it’s like dealing with their ever-increasing fame.
