युवराज ने साउथ मुंबई के एक होटल में आयोजित प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में यह ऐलान किया. जिसको सुन सामने बैठी उनकी मां के आंसू निकल आए. युवराज सिंह अपने मां के काफी करीब हैं. वह अक्सर इंटरव्यू में कहते रहे हैं की वह अपनी मां को सभी बातें बताते हैं. वहीं संन्यास का ऐलान करने वक्त भी उन्होंने कहा कि मेरी मां हमेशा मेरी ताक़त रही हैं.
