జపాన్ ఓపెన్‌ వరల్డ్‌ టూర్‌-750 టోర్నీ నుంచి తెలుగు తేజం భారత స్టార్ షట్లర్‌ పీవీ సింధు నిష్క్రమించారు. మహిళల సింగిల్స్‌లో భాగంగా శుక్రవారం జరిగిన క్వార్టర్‌ ఫైనల్లో ఐదో సీడ్‌ పీవీ సింధు 18-21, 15-21 తేడాతో అకానే యమగుచి (జపాన్‌) చేతిలో ఓడిపోయారు. దీంతో జపాన్ ఓపెన్‌లో పీవీ సింధు క్వార్టర్‌ ఫైనల్లోనే ఇంటిదారి పట్టింది.
