Employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on Sunday decided to go on indefinite Samme from October 5 to press for their demands, the main being the merger of the unit with the government.The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of various employee unions said they were forced to go on Samme by the "unhelpful attitude" of the state government, which failed to address the long-pending demands even after being served the Samme notice.

దసరా పండగ ముందు తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వానికి ఆర్టీసీ కార్మికులు భారీ షాక్‌ ఇచ్చారు. అక్టోబర్‌ 5 నుంచి సమ్మె చేస్తున్నట్లు అధికారికంగా ప్రకటించారు. ఈ మేరకు ఆదివారం ఓ ప్రకటన విడుదల చేశారు. ఆర్టీసీని ప్రభుత్వంలో విలీనం చేయాలని ఎంతో కాలంగా వారు డిమాండ్‌ చేస్తున్న విషయం తెలిసిందే. తమ సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించాలని కోరుతూ.. సెప్టెంబర్‌ 3న ప్రభుత్వానికి ఆర్టీసీ కార్మికులు లేఖ కూడా రాశారు. అయితే నెల గడుస్తున్నా దీనిపై ప్రభుత్వం ఏమాత్రం స్పందించకపోవడంతో ఆగ్రహానికి వచ్చిన కార్మీకులు సమ్మె సైరన్‌ మోగించారు. ప్రభుత్వం తమతో కనీస సంప్రదింపులు కూడా జరపకపపోవడంపై కార్మికులు తీవ్ర అసంతృప్తితో ఉన్నారు.
