After the disclosure of a holding in HDFC, the Chinese central bank People's Bank of China has now acquired an equity stake in ICICI Bank.The investment by the Chinese central bank in ICICI Bank is modest. It subscribed to the recent ICICI Bank’s Rs 15,000 crore capital qualified institutional investors (QIP) placement and invested Rs 15 crore.Earlier, a disclosure by HDFC had caused a flutter after People's Bank of China holding breached a 1 percent mark.

చైనా దేశ కేంద్ర బ్యాంకు ‘పీపుల్స్‌ బ్యాంక్‌ ఆఫ్‌ చైనా విదేశీ పోర్టుఫోలియో మదుపరి (ఎఫ్‌పీఐ) రూపం లో నేరుగా భారత బ్లూచిప్‌ కంపెనీల షేర్లలో పెట్టుబడులు పెడుతోంది. ప్రయివేటురంగ బ్యాంకింగ్ దిగ్గజం HDFC లిమిటెడ్‌లో 1.75 కోట్ల షేర్ల (1%)ను చైనా సెంట్రల్ బ్యాంకు కొనుగోలు చేసింది. గత వారం ఐసీఐసీఐ బ్యాంక్‌ జారీ చేసిన రూ.15,000 కోట్ల క్యుఐపీ QIP ఇష్యూలో రూ.15 కోట్ల విలువైన షేర్లు కొనుగోలు చేసింది.
