For the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings failed to qualify for the next round and crashed out of the league stage in IPL 2020. Dropped catches, poor fielding and low strike-rates cost the Yellow Army as they finished at the seventh spot in the points table. The poor results could see the team management making some changes and even though there will no mega-auction this year, CSK will have a chance to revamp their squad.

चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स अपनी टीम से आठ खिलाड़ियों को निकालने वाली है. जी हाँ, ताजा रिपोर्ट्स यही कह रही है. आठ बड़े खिलाड़ियों का पत्ता कटेगा. और वो खिलाड़ी फिर से नीलामी में जाने वाले हैं. गौरतलब है कि 21 जनवरी से पहले सभी फ्रेंचाइजी को रिटेन और रिलीज खिलाडियों को लिस्ट जारी करनी है. चूँकि, 11 फरवरी को आईपीएल की नीलामी होनी है. ऐसे में सभी टीमें अपने फ्लॉप खिलाड़ी को बाहर निकालेगी. जहाँ तक चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स की बात है, तो उनके खिलाड़ियों का प्रदर्शन साल 2020 में बेहद ही खराब रहा था. टीम सातवें स्थान पर रही थी. सैम करन और फाफ डू प्लेसी के अलावा किसी भी प्लेयर ने बढ़िया प्रदर्शन नहीं किया था. लिहाजा, सीएसके पहली बार आईपीएल के इतिहास में प्लेऑफ में जगह नहीं बना पाई थी. अब आईपीएल 2021 में अपना प्रदर्शन सुधारने के लिए चेन्नई की टीम 7-8 खिलाड़ियों को रिलीज कर सकती है.
