England won the toss and had no hesitation in electing to bowl on a sunny afternoon in Cardiff. The Sophia Gardens in Wales produced a grassy pitch making Indians wary from the outset unlike the first T20 game. Rohit Sharma had another failure followed by a bizzare run out of Shikhar Dhawan. KL Rahul couldn’t replicate his form & India were tottering with 3 quick wickets in the pavilion. A partnership with Raina & another one with MS Dhoni from Virat Kohli helped India get a decent total of 148. Kohli top scored for India with 47. England on the other hand looked to attack from the outset. Alex Hales careful play & Bairstow’s clinical approach against India’s ace Kuldeep Yadav took the game away from India. With almost run a ball needed, Kumar produced a gem of an 18th over to claw India back into the game. Alex Hales clinched victory for England from the jaws of defeat in the last over.
