इसलिए पूजनीय है आंवले का पेड़ आमलकी एकादशी को आंवला एकादशी या रंगभरी एकादशी के नाम से जाना जाता है. इस दिन आंवले के पेड़ की पूजा का विधान है. आंवला की पूजा करने के पीछे कई पौराणिक कथाएं व मान्यताएं जुड़ी हुई हैं. कुछ कथाओं के अनुसार भगवान शिव और भगवान विष्णु के स्वरूप में आंवले के पेड़ का सबसे पहले माता लक्ष्मी ने किया था. पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार एक बार माता लक्ष्मी धरती लोक पर भ्रमण करने आईं. धरती पर आने के बाद उन्हें मन हुआ कि वह भगवान शिव और भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करें. विष्णु जी की पूजा में तुलसी के पत्ते का उपयोग होता है और शिव जी की पूजा बेल के साथ की जाती है.
