Stand-in Indian skipper Rohit Sharma slammed his third double century in ODIs during the 2nd ODI between India and Sri Lanka. In the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit led from the front and sent the Lankan bowlers on a leather hunt. Batting on 199, Rohit scored a couple of runs off the last over bowled by Sri Lankan captain Thisara Perera to reach the landmark in the last over of the innings. Rohit remained unbeaten on 208 off 153 balls. His knock was studded with 13 fours and 12 sixes. Rohit took 115 balls to score the first 100 runs while the next 100 runs came off just 36 balls. It was a brlliant knock from Rohit considering Men in Blue were humiliated in the 1st ODI by the Lankans, where they were skittled for just 112 runs - a total the visitors chased down with seven wickets remaining. The Mumbai batsman already had two double tons to his name - 209 vs Australia and 264 against Sri Lanka. Apart from Rohit, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar are the other two Indian cricketers to have scored double century in ODIs. Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill are two overseas cricketers to have achieved the feat.
